ARE YOU SERIOUS???....REALLY???

Last year we got our son a car for his 16th birthday and said it was his to drive as long as he chose to uphold an A average with his grades. ....more to that story!

Anyways, it's even been VERY helpful to ME with him helping out with kids needing to be here and there...need I say more?

Imagine the shock to my 16 yr. old when he has car problems and must create a way to GET IT FIXED! Wait you mean I have to pay to get it fixed...REALLY? Uh....YES! We bought the car, pay the insurance on it, and give you limited allowance that you use for gas each month....UH YES you get to create a way to earn the money if you want it fixed.

Well how am I going to get to school? Oh ya, while you're in "create mode" you might want to create with that issue too. I suggested him riding his bike to school but apparently my suggestion was outdated for him because he thought that was insane...it is 4 miles but hey we had to do it at his age now didn't we?

Story short...he text me today stating...hahaha:) i'm ready to make some cash!

This was so comical the way it really played out that my husband and I laughed with tears behind closed doors!

Everything just PEACHY!

My day seemed to be so fulfilled in being so ordinary that it filled me up to overflowing! I feel something magical about being a mother and throwing my apron on around the same time everyday...this day a bit sooner than most due to 2 boxes full of ripe peaches screaming to be preserved. I pulled my tall chair to the sink, knowing full well that I would be there for a while so I my as well get comfortable! I grabbed the knife and started to peel the peaches one by one and something magical happened in the process...just the magic of the kids coming in from school, each wanting time with mom. (maybe to grab a juicy peach slice) My seven year old sat down and read her 2 chapters to me out of a book she was finishing up this day and with much excitement for this accomplishment, (she is now in chapter books) I drank in every minute of this moment with her. My 12 yr. old came in and sat down to "help me" learn his new word meanings of the week and we laughed through them all! (It's a new system we started that is helping us enjoy his learning time) My 4 yr. old ran through the kitchen several times with a garbage bag on his back pretending to be some super hero and my 14 yr. old daughter came through the door (just finishing tennis practice at school in 100+ degree weather) eager to help me do peaches which I replied "Oh no go rest for a minute" but "NO WAY" she said and rolled up her sleeves to help. This caught on and soon my girls surrounded me until the job was finished! These are the simple moments that bring the happiest memories for me!
I LOVE YOU KIDS!!!
