Baked Oatmeal

Great for those cold mornings when you want a comfort breakfast wrapped in warmth...the aroma of spices being baked in will invite the family to gather together for this one!

Every Tuesday morning in our home you will find HOT CEREAL on the menu! This is one mom who strives for well balanced meals...you might enjoy this one for your family!

1 c. whole rolled oats

1 T. cinnamon

1/4 t. nutmeg

1/4 t. salt

3 T. maple syrup

1 T. grated orange zest

2 medium apples, peeled and diced

1 ripe banana, mashed (optional)

1/4 c. walnuts, chopped (optional)

1-1/4 c. milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Grease a 9 inch pie plate

Combine and mix all ingredients in bowl and pour into pie plate.

Sprinkle with brown sugar

Bake 25 minutes.

Eat immediately so it doesn't dry out.

Add milk to each serving as needed.

Thanksgiving

Yes the kids went swimming while the adults sat by the fire!

WHY NOT HAVE THANKSGIVING DINNER OUTSIDE...

We enjoyed a feast of beef, turkey, and ham with lots of yummy sides

Super excited that Uncle Jon and Grandma came to town to visit us THANKSGIVING WEEKEND!

Little Ems decided to peek at the neighbors dog (over the wall) that was barking and crashed in the process...
Falling on landscaping rock is bound to break a bone or in this case 2 bones.

She ended up breaking her elbow and wrist. She thought the glittery cast was pretty cool.

I never stop reading this book, when I complete the last page I start over. I started color coding this book with a stop light color coding system and it speaks volumes to me even more so.
